Northern Lights - complete (9/9)
Title: Northern Lights
Fandoms: Rivers of London, Shetland (BBC TV series)
Characters: Thomas Nightingale, Peter Grant, Sandy Wilson, Jimmy Perez, Alison 'Tosh' McIntosh. No pairings.
Rating: pg-13.
Word Count: 46,000
Warnings/Spoilers: No warnings apply. Spoilers for Rivers of London - Broken Homes and for Shetland - first two episodes only.

Summary: The theft of three Pictish stone carvings from a museum in London lead Peter and Nightingale to Shetland. The reason for the theft is clear: The stones are storage ancient devices for magical energy. Who took them and why is a lot less so. That Shetland has its own mythology and magics which are far closer to that of Scandinavia than London doesn't help matters.

Between the lack of information, the cold and wet January weather and Nightingale's cold, Peter can't help but wish they were back in London.

Crossover with Shetland. No knowledge of Shetland, which is a police drama set in Shetland, is needed. The story is from Peter's POV, and any information about the three detectives, DI Jimmy Perez, DS Alison 'Tosh' McIntosh and DC Sandy Wilson, who make up the core cast of Shetland will be found out where needed as Peter does.

Set post Broken Homes for Rivers of London and after series one of Shetland.

Final part. It looked better than rampaging trolls and magical sea people on the official report. )

Why anybody would want to steal a couple of rocks from a museum and then leg it to the far north of Scotland was beyond me. )

Fic: Time and Tide (Complete)

Title: Time and Tide

Characters: Lesley

Fandom: Rivers of London

Warnings/Spoilers: No warnings apply, spoilers for Broken Homes.

Word Count: 2750

Rating: PG (a little bit swearing)

Summary: Lesley's life isn't anything like she'd expected it to be. Everything since magic came into it has been a ridiculous mix of wonderful, confusing and downright awful. It's taking her places she'd never expect to go and pushing to make decisions that she never thought she would have to make. She knows how those choices must look to those closest to her, but they can't know the truth, not yet. Too many lives depend on it. Her own included.

Lesley had always felt she could think better by the sea. )

Fic:At the Going Down of the Sun. (Written for Rivers of Londonfest)
Title: At The Going Down Of The Sun.
Word count: 1900
Rating: G
Characters/Pairings: Thomas Nightingale, Peter Grant.
Warnings: Spoiler for Broken Homes.
A/N: Thank you to Philomytha for betaing this for me. Any remaining mistakes are my own.

Summary:
Few knew what happened at Ettersberg or the of the presence of wizards in the war. And while Nightingale knew that it could never be public knowledge, on Remembrance Day he lays a wreath all the same.

The crowds had departed and the streets around the Cenotaph were almost deserted as the vintage Jaguar pulled up a street away, the weak evening sunlight reflecting off the puddles at the edge of the road.  )

Fic: Dandelion Clocks. - Written for Countdown to Foxglove Summer, a Rivers of London fest.
Title: Dandelion Clocks
Fandom: Rivers of London.
Rating: G
Characters/Pairing: Thomas Nightingale, past Thomas Nightingale/David Mellenby.
Word Count: 2050
A/N: Thank you to Philomytha for betaing this for me. Any errors that remain are my own.

Summary: It is said that to have loved and lost is preferable to having never loved at all. Nightingale was never sure whether it was true or not, both carried with them their own particular kind of loss.

So many relationships had been doomed by the war. )

Beta request - yes another one.
There are probably going to be a few of these over the next few weeks as I'm writing up to 10 fics for a Rivers of London fest type thing. (I say up to ten, because it's 10 things, and some might end up being art instead)

I've got a beta for the one I posted about the other day I'm now looking for somebody or multiple somebodies to look at two more.

Fic one is finished. Nightingale centric G rated Gen fic, (although could be read as Pre-Nightingale/Peter if you so wished), 1600 words. It contains a major spoiler for Book 4 of the series Broken Homes.

Fic Two is mostly finished - will be done in next day or two. It's Lesley centric gen fic, pg rated (little bit of swearing). Will be about 2000 words. It's basically one giant spoiler for an event in Book 4 of the series Broken Homes.
