Yes and I think there's something unbearably sad about his son having dementia, you can relate to the grief of anyone's loved one with dementia, but it being a son, who he feels he has abandoned. Just awful. I always felt that was what triggered him, and it's one of those stories where I just want to put it right! Come up with a plan as to how he can salvage something and continue to live. In fact that's my only disappointment with it, I feel Jack could have tried harder, but I get it's more just the constraint of a one hour story..
