the pill + antibiotics = surprise baby

Some you you might remember me complaining about the going the dentist, and how he took an absolute age to remove a couple of teeth, and gave me a course of anibiotics to take.  Well guess who forgot what effect antibiotics can have on the pill. (I blame the fact that I got flu as well the day after finishing the antibiotics)

So I now have two positive pregnancy tests and the fact half of my bra's suddenly now don't fit  (seriously I've grown like an inch and a half and I'm only about 5 or 5 1/2 weeks, I rather dread to think what size they are going to end up if they keep growning like that) 

Off to the local health centre tomorrow afternoon, although honestly it's just to comfirm what I first started to suspect last monday.

Fin's been great about it, all surprised and I don't think he's stopped smiling since I told him. We've been together ten years this autumn, and I turn 30 in a four and a half months, so it's not like were rushing into stuff. An I guess if me and Fin are going to start a family then now is as good a time as any.

Sure with Fin losing his job a couple of weeks back the timing could be a little better, but hopefully he'll get another job soon.

I'm tempted to say doh but I think I'll just go for congratulations (: Aren't antibiotics great? Ah well good things can come out unpleasant dentist visits. I hope Fin gets a new job soon though

Thank you for the congratulation :) It was somewhere between the antibiotics, the fact that he made a mess of getting the tooth out and then getting flu pretty much killed the common sense part of my brain. Still it's a nice way to start the new year.

Thank you. It was a bit of a surprise, it's starting to sink in now that by early September I'll be a mum -Fin is already telling people, I don't think he's stopped smiling since monday evening when I told him.

Thank you :) I did kind of already know that antibiotics could do that, but between the tooth removal, the antibiotics and then getting the flu my brain was kind of dead a sort of forgot.

It a good start to the new year, it's still just sinking in that by early September I'll be a mum. 29 well 30 by then suddenly feels so young and inexperienced to be starting a family, but I guess it's not really.
