Patrick Quinn stares at the woman who's appeared through the swirling light in the corner of the room.
“If you want to live, come with me.”
Somewhere in the house the creature gibbers, and Patrick decides that anywhere is better than there.
Following her through the anomaly, into the future, he asks, “Who are you?”
“Helen Cutter.” She draws a gun. “I know your brother.”
“Did Danny send you? Are you taking me home?”
Grabbing his arm, she pulls him down behind an ancient, rusted car, as something flies overhead. “That's up to him. His friends have something I want.”
