I think the Deadline was meant to be the last of the old style Torchwoods before CoE, mainly because it seemed to all 'let me hit you over the head with this giant plot hammer of foreshadowing'
Series one and two based fix-its and AU's are definitely allowed, being as Torchwood was an anything can happen (usually did) show at that point.
I think I'm probably going to have a seperate poll over the use of Alice, Stephen and Ianto's sister + family once the comm is open. I think most people will probably say okay to use them.
