Hey I'm so glad to read this. For some reason I had missed it. I vividly remembered the first chapter, but not the rest. Anyhow I loved it, and good on you for finishing it. I really think you get the emotions down really well, and I love the way you write Jack. How lovely to think of him saving the blue feather alien child in his missing years.
