Fades Episode three.

Another good episode (although I think that I enjoyed last weeks a little more than this one.) Still not sure where they are going with the storyline, but it's going to be interesting to find out.
Okay, really not how I thought the wing thing in the trailer from last week would play out. I thought it would be something that Paul was imaging. But I suppose points for originality - I think this maybe the first show to have somebody spontaneously grow wings from wanking. I guess they couldn't have stayed long (although we done see them go) as they've gone by the time Paul go to see his rather odd psychiatrist.
More interesting was Helen and Neil. Helen is a ghost (I was hoping she was something else and would stay around), but I like how down to Earth she is about everything. Neil choosing to treat himself when hospital is an option make me wonder about just what Neil's background is. It really doesn't seem like he trusts that many people. I'm rather surprised that Neil is on his feet, give how bad he was mauled.
Okay so there are other Angelics. They seem a rather eclectic bunch. I get the impression that they usually work in teams of two, and the four that were there did give me the impression of being two couples.
Paul healing Neil - I suspected that was what would happen - after all we were shown Paul healing Mac's arm last week. Helen's matter of factness about the coughing up a moth afterwards
Neil and Paul talking afterwards. Neil wanting to try to keep Paul safe. I'm not surprised, he doesn't seem to actually know that many people and he's lost Sarah and Helen in the last few days. (This scene and the one after the Fades in the wood last week, when Neil and Paul were in the field by van, sort of make me want to ship them - I'm not sure how I feel about the age difference though. Neil is a good 15-20 years older than Paul - although at 17 Paul is old enough here in the UK to go out with who he wants.)
The Mark, Sarah and Neil conversation in the house was a little odd. Sarah way of proving she was there by getting Neil to tell Mark that she'd seen him sleep with another woman really doesn't strike me as that good a proof. Mark could have equally thought that Neil was spying on him and called the police any way.
Paul and Jay are cute together. I can't say as I'm overly interest interested in their relationship though - although the whole Twilight conversion was funny. And I suppose if I have any criticism of this weeks episode it's that there was too much Paul/Jay, and not enough Mac or Neil.
I really want to know what Neil's connection is with Natalie. I still sure there is one. Fades don't seem to be that talkative, so how does Neil know her name? (Okay she does have it on necklace around her neck, but I still think that there's something more there.)
Catching Natalie and trying to get answers from her, I really get the feeling this won't go well at all. Angelic guy with the hippy type women angelic is I feel going to be a weak link. He seems to be one of those people who are convinced that they know it all, that everybody should do it his way and that he's obviously going to be in charge. Helen is keeping them all in order at the moment, but given that she's a Fade, I'm guessing that she's not going to stay much longer.
All of Neil and Helen's scenes together are great. I like how, as a vicar Helen does show her faith in this, as something personal. She's telling Neil what she believes without telling him that it the right way or the only way. I like how they've handed the religion side of so far - it's there, because it makes sense that it's there - it's about life after death it would be strange if religion wasn't in there - but it's not all about religion or Heaven and Hell, or about trying to put forward one religious view as being the correct one.
Detective Armstrong's boss really isn't a very nice guy. The whole thing about promotions was pretty unpleasant. DI (or is it DCI?) Armstrong's reaction to go and try to frame it on Mark, isn't good either. Mark referring to Sarah as being dead, when police are treating it as a missing person case isn't going to help him look any less guilt.
Paul giving Mac a key to his house is so nice, the good natured teasing between works well. Paul walking out into the road and getting hit by the van is surprising. We know that he's probably in danger because of the Fades, but we forget about the everyday things.
It's going to be interesting to see how him recovering from accident will play out - whether somebody will heal him or whether he finds a way of healing himself. (Because normal speed healing really doesn't seem a viable option given the time span of the show.)
Neil and Helen together in the ascension wood. I think Helen trust Neil more than she does the other Angelics, although might just because she knows him better than she knows them.
It looks like Helen really is gone now :( I really hoped she'd be in the show longer. Neil alone in the wood after she's ascended looks so lost and scared. I'm just hoping he doesn't go off the deep end before the series is over. I really would like Neil to be alive at the end of it.
Okay the head Fade/ghoul thing has turned into the man Paul saw in his vision.
So a few answers this week, but now even more questions. Can't believe it's already half over. Six episodes really doesn't seem like enough.
