What a compelling beginning! I'm looking forward into sinking into this more than I have any novel I've bought in a long time. :)
This line stopped me cold: "Looking at him, Jack thinks that it explains a lot of things that he'd not even realised were out of place until now." I can totally see that. So much about Ianto seems more appropriate to an older man or someone out of their time. Once you said it, it seemed so obvious I can't believe I never thought of it before! (That Jack didn't think of it either makes me feel a little better. :-p)
Finally, the sex scene was hot and sweet. I love that Jack knows Ianto what Ianto likes so well and used that knowledge to comfort them both.
I'll add this to my Memories so I can pick it up again later. RL is intruding on my reading time at the moment.
