Aug. 2nd, 2007 04:48 pmWhy can't it be the weekend yet? I've already worked all my contractual hours for the week, all thirty seven and a half of them, I had by lunch time today. Now i'm using up my overtime, unfortunately I will max that out by the end of work today and the whole of tomorrow will be flexitime (like I need more of that)- when I'll get to use it I don't know, i've already got nearly three and a half days saved up.
The only problem in wishing it was the weekend is that it would mean it was closer to Monday morning. Monday morning when we have a new person starting at work, today I find out that the supervisor in all his wisdom has made absolutely no arrangements for the this guy, not even a start time, before he, the supervisor that is, went off on holiday.
So I don't even have the paper work to get the guy a swipe card to get in and out of the building. Organisation, don't you just love it.
Still it's better than the other new starter that I was informed about this morning, she hasn't even been given a start date or any real information at all.
Basically i've had time to do almost nothing this week. Next week looks like being more of the same and at least half of the week after that.
I would like a week off, even half a week off would do. Maybe when we are theoretically less busy/short staffed/only staffed by me and people who've only been here a couple of weeks I might take some time off. Currently that is looking like early October.
Ok I know that's not strictly true as I have got the 17th of this month off to travel down to Cardiff for the meet up, shame I couldn't get the monday morning off though, as I'm going to be so tired as i'm not getting back until just after midnight and i've got to be at work by eight. Such is life, i'm sure i'll manage :)
I will try to sort out those fics that i've been saying i'll finish (yes, we will probably get a freak snow storm or something when I actually get around to it) really, really I will, I promise to finish something this weekend, even if it is only a ficlet.
