Same sex marriage just became legal in England and Wales.

The government have finally got their act together over the same sex marriage bill and after passing it in the House of Lords on Monday, taking it back to the Commons on Tuesday for some amendments the bill has now been given Royal assent so it's now law.

Now Scotland and Northern Ireland need to get it sorted out there too. It's ridiculous that different parts of the UK can have different laws on this.

The ability to marry who they love is the right of every man and woman, regardless of gender or sexuality.

The only thing I don't get (in the BBC article) is why the first ceremonies apparently won't be taking place until next summer. Surely if it's now law there's shouldn't be a waiting time of another year for people to get married.

It's nice to see some religious groups being supportive too. Well done the Quakers for saying they will be happy to carry out marriages.

So something like. A year out of time - missing scene,
Christmas in year that never was. or Love and Dinosaurs - John Harts POV or Time enough and Life - time stamp, one year later.

All my fics and drabbles are here on my livejournal, either under tag 'fic' or 'drabble' or under memories 'my fic' (memories isn't that up to date, so recent, last year or so fics are on it)

Yes, I know I should be writing my nanowrimo, but having a break to write drabbles is always good.
