Tumblr filtering out #gay, #bisexual and #lesbian tags on mobile searches.

Tumblr you know what isn’t cool? Right now you.

Why?

Because in your half arsed attempted to remove porn (despite it not being against your ToS for anything other than illegal content or graphic videos) you have filtered out everything which has #gay, #bisexual and #lesbian tags for anybody searching from a mobile platform.

These tags still work if you are accessing Tumblr from a computer, laptop etc. At least for now.

They haven’t censored #bi or #lgbt for mobile platforms yet.

Apparently this is so they can sell Apps in the Itunes store, which doesn’t allow X rated content.

Yes - because everything tagged gay, lesbian or bisexual is always porn. (see my sarcasm here)

It couldn't be about human rights issues. It couldn't be about the UK allowing same sex marriages. It couldn't be about Putin’s crack downs on gay people in Russia at the moment - with people being fined and even imprisoned for going on Pride parades. It couldn't possibly be about the courts in the USA deciding that DOMA is unconstitutional.

So please share this and let Tumblr know that this isn't cool.
