The whinging post. http://the-silver-sun.livejournal.com/224945.html if you want to read it.
Potted version. Maternal family history of very early menopause. My time of the month has over last year or so been haywire. Started in last month or two with hot flushes. Did home menopause test - which came back positive. So hence the whinging, 34 and starting menopause - go me.
This post.
Well, hoping it was a fluke I tested two more times with the same result. So saw my doctor yesterday and got blood test taken - for an exact number (the home test only goes positive over a certain level which is 25/ml - 4 to 10 is considered best for fertility, 10-15 is IVF and over that well you're chance are about the same as getting pregnant even with IVF is 1-5% - guess it's just as well me and the husband weren't planning on any more kids.). She admitted she'd never seen a case of early menopause, but as her practice is based at the university I would imagine about 90% of her patients are under 25. But she said she'd read up on it for me.
Results mid to late next week and take it from there. I'm assuming the levels (FSH) will come back raised as per the other test. Testing for another couple of hormones as well, to try and get an idea of whether I need any suppliments for them.
I've told Fin now. I hadn't before. Just felt like I was being ridiculous. Not really anything he can do. Still can't get him to doctors for himself. Annoyingly he's finally admitted they do have a better system for him making appointments online (their phone booking system is awful) - but you have to go to their reception desk and get a form - so it's too much like hard work for him to take the 15/20 minute to walk there and do it. He can be worse than a kid sometimes for getting him to do things - I have better luck asking Alexander to pick up his toys - and he's only 4.
So that's me. Nanowrimo editing crawling along at a snails pace. Need to get writing again and post next part of Lives are for Living- can't believe I've not posted any fic for the best part of 4 weeks - must be something like a record for me.
