So no posts back at the weekend as I was out camping with my son's (he's 12.5 now) scout group - they were short of leaders back in September, so I've stepped up and am helping out most weeks. It helps that I already have camping stuff and know how to light campfires and cook on them - I grew up in a house that had no central heating a wood fire - I learn how to cut the wood and light it early on - younger than the scouts are.
The hammock and tarp in the second photo is mine. The other ones are the scouts ones. It's a bit of a limited set as I can't post any that have any of the scouts in them as they under 18. So here is some woodland and some hammocks.
We had good weather, about 16c/60f in the day, although it got cold over night, down to 2c/35f The hammocks with underquilts were warm enough and it seemed like they all enjoyed it as they were asking when we could do it again - A woodland walk, putting up the hammocks, lighting a fire with a flint and steel, cooking on it and then a some orienteering.
Then finally on Sunday heading home with a nice a nice sunset.
