Has anybody been watching Ripper Street? Last part is on tonight, but it has been renewed for a second series.

There's only a few fics on AO3 has anyone seen any elsewhere?


As some of my flist know i've been trying to lose weight and get fit after finding I weighed11 and a half stone at Christmas. Weighed today and down to 10 stone 4. Next stop 10 stone, I think I might treat myself to new glasses when I reach it.

I love Ripper Street... haven't looked for fic it has to be said (I mean Jack would have been around but as the actress who plays his daughter is the woman in the orphanage my mind got blown...)

I've only seen one crossover fic and that with the RDJ and Law Sherlock Holmes films.

I would imagine that any Sherlock Holmes series/book/films with the 1880-90s time frame would crossover well.

Wonders if anybody will write a strange Ripper Street/ GDL Sherlock Holmes Film/Torchwood/Doctor Who (for Madame Vastra and Jenny) crossover? Or even HG Wells and Wolcott from Warehouse 13.

I can't let myself think about plotting something like that myself yet as I've got a big bang fic to finish and post one month today. Although Case Fic big bang is taking sign up - and I am tempted, although I think the plot would end up being very strange and I'm not sure I could write a crossover fic that was long enough.

I'm trying to concentrate on original fic at the moment with a view to getting published, which might explain why fanfic isn't on top of my agenda to plot... (and I should maybe work on simpler sentences...)

I absolutely, totally adore Ripper Street. It is one of the best things on telly in years! It keeps my attention all the way through and not much does that as I usually read or play on Twitter while I'm watching :)
The three main characters are fantastic together and love how each has their own story which we slowly get to see bits of. I like the separate story each week which is a nice change. The sets and CGI are/is amazing and even the structure of the language pays particular attention to the detail of the period.
The Victorian period was one of great advancement and change and we get to see that slowly unfolding.
I could go on and on - I did enjoy it, have I said that? :D

I hope Fic is written, it may even drag me away from Jack and Ianto!
