Thank you :) Out of Time is one of me favourite episodes, and just how Jack got out of the car and how Ianto got home on Christmas Eve without his car always interested me.
Jack was just so lost in that episode. Like when he talks to John before they get back in the car to die.
JOHN: Who are you?
JACK: A man, like you, out of his time, alone and scared.
JOHN: How do you cope?
JACK: It's just bearable. It has to be. I don't have a choice.
Jack's actions always seemed to be far more personal to him that it only being about not letting John die alone - there were after all other ways that John could have died that wouldn't have involved Jack dying also or using Ianto's car.
