There was a time I never gave Jack's feelings toward the Doctor another thought until a friend of mine told me she pretty much shares your view of the whole situation and now I have different thoughts on the matter. If he's NOT resentful, Jack still have every right to be.
As for Jack's change of clothing, the Captain's Blog on the BBC websites indicate he DID get back to the hub to find it empty so he checked up on the team's time without him then went off to find them. I'm very sure he showered and changed clothing. You're spot on.
