So this might be why there's been no BBC annoucement on a series 4 of Torchwood.

Fox to develop US version of Torchwood.

Basically RTD and Jane Tranter will write/produce the series for a joint BBC worldwide productions and Fox Network show.

The only thing in question I think is whether it's a reboot from the start or if it picks up after CoE.

According to Wikipedia (not the most reliable source, I know) "On November 13 2009, an article was posted on Eve Myles's (actress playing Gwen) website confirming that work on Series 4 had begun and that shooting was expected to begin in January of 2010."

So... there is a fourth series, but when it will be shot and aired is another thing entirely...
