Being Human, 2x03. (minor mentions of the trailer for 2x04)
Tonight's episode showed what the show does the best; mixing moments of comedy with utter darkness.
Things that are funny.
Cara, the less than bright vampire with the strong west country accent taunting Mitchell by singing Rehab.
George trying to be a rubbish date, with a long boring film, take away kebabs and dreadful poetry.
George and Hugh wondering why people never bother with coasters.
The bug on George's glasses.
Things that are funny right up until they really aren't.
Annie walking into the bathroom while George in there and switching off the radio because it isn't safe.
Mitchell and George telling Annie they are all right, but being irrationally upset by the fact that they've missed TV program, because it means they don't even have that one bit of normality in their lives.
The things that are serious.
Mitchell blackmailing Quinn, the coroner; his grandchildren stay safe in exchange for his silence and continued help in coving up of deaths caused by vampires.
The deal Mitchell makes with the police.
Nina's phone call to George, and George in tears because of it. (I think George has cried every episode so far this series.)
Lucy = Professor Jaggert.
Nina with Kemp and Jaggert
Mitchell dragging Cara down in those tunnels, then smashing her teeth out with a rock and then leaving her alone and trapped in the dark.
This not exactly the most comprehensive or perhaps even coherant of reviews. The one thing with this show is that I don't know where it's going to go by the end. Or what will happen.
I want to think that somehow it will end well for all of them, but that's seems less and less likely now.
Next week's trailer:
Who is it in the RAF uniform that Annie is talking to? I guessing that the guy is probably a ghost. It's an old style uniform, and the side parted hair makes me think WW2. The double strip on his sleeve says he's a corporal.
Also, Nina in the pressurisation tank thing, so not good.
