New BBC Sci-fi show - Outcasts. Airs February.

The BBC have got a new Sci-fi show, Outcasts, which is about a group of colonists on an alien planet. Amongst the cast are Jamie Bamber (Battlestar Glactica), Hermione Norris (Spooks/MI-5) and Daniel Mayes (Ashes to Ashes) and Daniel Meade (Ugly Betty) amongst others.

SFX Magazine gives the airing date as February, I'm guessing this is late February as it's not showing up in the schedules yet, although I've seen a 'coming soon' trailer on BBC1 the last night. So it's looking like it's going to be a BBC1 show.

There are copies of the SFX article about it under the cut. They contains casting and minor plot spoilers (mostly just place names, a little bit of background)

:) Hermione Norris. I liked her in Spooks (not seen her in Cold Feet), Roz Myers was - to me any way - how to have a tough woman on TV. They didn't have to tell us all the time how awesome she was, we could see that for ourselves.

It does seem quite promising as a series, especially with the team behind it, Kudos productions having made Spooks, Life on Mars and Ashes to Ashes. And I like the optimism in the SFX article over whether they'll get a second series.

My guess for an air date would be Tuesday 15th Feb, mainly because that's the week after Silent Witness finishes in that timeslot and because Ashes to Ashes and I think Spooks generally got a Tuesday 9pm airing. It also seems about right time-wise for the first comming soon trailer to have been on the BBC yesterday.

I like her in Spooks, love her in Kingdom. And I really have to watch Life on Mars and Ashes to Ashes some time. Parents watched it, but I never found the time
