Writing again. Sequels and Virtual series.

I’ve not been getting much writing done recently, just the kink-las entries (went out a round or two ago) and the final part of Past Imperfect. It has just seemed a real struggle to get words on paper or screen.

The last couple of days though I seem to have got back into it, and am hoping to get a lot more written soon.

The main pieces I want to get finished are:

Suspect Fungus (awful working title I know) which is a sequel to The Spaces in Between. About 2k written already with another 15k or so more to finish.

And

Torchwood: Timelines (also a working title)
My virtual series 4 which follows on from Secrets and Hope, and will be ten 10k ‘episodes’ of case type fic.

Five of the episodes are planned out in detail with rough overviews of the other five done.
I had wanted to get this done in time for the airing TW: miracle day, as a sort of alternative, but there’s no way I can get 100k of fic done by July. So it will be done when it’s done – Currently I’m setting myself the deadline of September this year, so that I can start posting it to coincide with the 5th anniversary of Torchwood first airing.

If anybody wants to help me with this, bouncing off ideas, working out plot points, I’d be grateful.

The plan is for this to be a virtual series where everybody is welcome to come and write fic set in this ‘verse like they do with the official series.

you don't know me, but I do very much admire your work. and I'm glad to see that you are also writing primeval. if there's anything I can do to help you out with your new plans, which I know may be put on hold pending your mother's illness, let me know.

Thank you :) I write a bit of Primeval fic, and have got plans for some longer Primeval stuff, but they are pretty much on the back burner.

I'm still intending to write both the sequel to The Spaces in Between and the virtual series.

There's not much that I can do regarding my mum's illness, she lives a long way from me, pretty much the other end of the county, so it's generally being there on the phone for her. Writing is something that I can to get away from stuff for a while, so I'm going to try my best to get it done.

For the virtual series it's a case of seeing if the 'episodes' all work together to form a coherant series. I'm going more for the feel of the original two series rather than CoE, and I won't be including any material from Miracle Day because 'Timelines' follows on from Secrets and Hope which goes AU in the six months later bit of CoE (Ianto alive, Andy joining Torchwood, Gwen rebuilding Torchwood).

I've got six of the episodes planned out and a few scenes for them written. As well as the over arching back plot.

I've set myself the date of 22nd October which is 5 years since Torchwood first aired to get episode one up and posted. With an episode a week being posted after that. To make sure it all gets done I'm planning to have at least nine of the ten episodes written and beta'd by the time the first one is posted.

I suppose the main things at this stage that need looking at the plot of the episodes. Especially with the placing of the plot arch scenes within them. And if the current order of the episodes works.
