LJ Bold out or whatever it's being called.

Ok I said i'd post a bit more once I found out what the hell was going on, so as a summary here it is.
Two, possibly more, but definately two Harry Potter fan art journals were permanently suspended.
This was done, apparently, without informing the journal owners first of what was wrong with their journal content or giving them time to back it up or remove it.
LJ is no longer striking out suspended journals, just bolding the name, making it difficult to tell how many journal have really been suspended.
There is talk of permanent suspensions, that is to say people suspended will not be able to make another LJ account, ever. Since this is only based off the email address registered on the suspended account is almost impossible to enforce, as all people will do is create another email address and set up another account. That is if they can still be bothered with LJ after something like that.
People are getting nervous, maybe rightly so, at the fact that LJ are introducing a new report abuse button that will show on every page. The amount of complaints about anything and everything is probably going to rise as a result of this. People are worried how LJ are going to handle complaints - will we start seeing a lot more mass suspensions?
The best summary of what is going on is here http://elke-tanzer.livejournal.com/791662.html
this also seems to be the place with the best available current info at the moment as the LJ news thread where this started has maxed out on it comments so nothing new is appearing there.
So i guess now it's a just wait and see what going to happen.
I am still not going to lock anything on this journal, let them do their worst, I have nothing to hide and will not be made to feel like I do.
That said, my fan fic's are backed up on greatestjournal at rhea_silva which is my account over there. This is just a precautionary measure though, as I don't tend to archive anywhere else and my somewhat geriatric laptop is not something that i'd rely on to back up anything.
Basically I have no intention of leaving LJ at the present time. If it ever comes to the situation when fan fic and similar are no longer wanted by LJ, I will leave, probably along with over half there users - see how they like that drop in revenue.
I'd hoped they would have learn their lesson after the whole strikethough debacle of a couple of months ago, but apparently not. Honestly I don't know whether this isn't worse, as although less people are affected this wasn't done due to outside pressure but off of LJ own bat and by effectively hiding the fact that these journals are suspended by not using the strikethrough makes it appears even more underhanded.
If and when I hear more I will post an update on what's going on.
