I don't usually post about clothes and the like (unless it's because I'm making a fancy dress costume or something for a reenactment event).

But I thought I'd share this link about measuring for bra sizes.

http://www.wikihow.com/Measure-Your-Bra-Size

Basically I've got a family wedding to go to, so I was sorting out what to wear, and realised the dress I was going wear was only going to work with a strapless bra. Okay, great I thought, I've got one of those.

So in a rare thing of actually trying stuff on in advance, I tried the thing on. Did it fit, did it heck as like. I'd only worn it twice, but I'd bought it before I had my son. And honestly it doesn't look like I'm going to wear it again.

Which brings me to the bra measuring wiki link. Having tried the measurements in some online calculator and got everything from a 38A to a 34E from using exactly the same figures, I decided to find out just how they calculate the things, and how they can get such a range of results.

So having worked it out using the method in the link. The band number like 34" is the under bust measurement and the cup sizes go in inches bigger. None of this add 4" then take away 2" if you get an odd number and then multiply it by your shoe size if there's an R in the month thing (okay being silly on this last point.)

So 34" under and 39" round the fullest bit gives a difference of 5" which gives a DD. Which I really couldn't quite believe. However a trip to the shops and a short while spent in the fitting rooms, and the purchasing of a 34" DD that actually fits properly - has convinced me.

And the old 36B bra is going to have to go.

And now to get back to my campnanowrimo fic and do some research about semaphore towers. (Okay post title not quite accurate as nano did end up in the post after all.)
