Cardiff had changed almost beyond recognition in the long centuries since her death and Faith had watched as the expectations of young girls like she'd once been changed too. Dreams of marrying well superseded by ones of equality and autonomy.
Yet some things had remained the same for those not touched by the glove. Life and death. Love and hate. Health and wealth and poverty. All those things that drove people to seek a glimpse of their future and find hope in the darkness.
Faith laid out the tarot cards and smiled. The world was changing, but she was ready.
