Okay, I've actually made a start on the Children of Earth re-write. First part re-plotted and about 1.5k written.
First fic for Torchwood-fest is nearly complete. Second fic for Torchwood-fest about half written.
And now for the bunnies.
From comment fic. An old, old Torchwood prompt from about 4 years ago.
Prompt theme for day was slave fic. Prompt given was Torchwood, Jack/Ianto. After months of searching, Ianto finds his Captain in a horrible place and situation.
Prompt meet brain. Brain goes,
Right, so after Jack steps back into Cardiff and the House of the Dead apparently blinks out of existence, leaving Ghost!Ianto gone forever, this this is what happens on the inside of the house.
Ianto takes the magic rock (because really is there a better description for it other than that? other than plot device that pretty darn stupid even by Torchwood standards) and goes to the backdoor of the House of the Dead, he then throws the rock back inside to make it close the Rift and steps through to wherever the other end of the Rift is.
Ianto is then on an alien world. He's not a ghost, but he's not really human either. Kind of like a good version of Bilis Manger. Ianto has only one thing on his mind though. Find Jack, before he does something else as stupid and desperate as trying to detonate a Rift in space and time with himself inside it.
He then has a bit of a wander though space and time and finds a little out about his not exactly human self. He also finds that he can use the Rift for travel. A version of the House of the Dead still exists, kind of like and echo, only it's just the main room. Each time he steps back into the Rift he arrives back there, each time he steps out he find himself somewhere new. The only problem is he has no control over it.
Eventually it opens somewhere that is at least in roughly the right time frame for not too much time to have passed for Jack from when he left from the House of the Dead.
He searches for Jack and eventually finds him. Jack has been a prisoner, a slave for a corrupt mining operation on an inhospitable alien planet for years. Jack has been there for quite a long time, rather longer than Ianto had thought had passed between the time they'd parted and the time he finds him.
Jack doesn't speak and doesn't seem to recognize him, he's thin and filthy dirty, hair grown and matted. The manacles round his wrists had obviously been too tight when they were put on and cut into his skin, and his healing ability had meant that the skin has healed over them in places. There some kind of tracking/shock collar as well.
Ianto gets him out and send information about about the company, enough to bring it down and get the other prisoners freed too. He takes Jack who's still basically non responsive back to the House of the Dead echo.
Haven't really thought past there apart from the fact that Jack will eventually remember who Ianto is. And that there should be a scene of Ianto trying to clean Jack and remove the manacles.
The last time I tried to do a comment fic it ended up being over a thousand words long. This at the moment is going 'if you want to do this properly maybe you should leave it for a big bang fic'

Date: 2013-05-01 10:23 pm (UTC)I need to have a look over at the longliveianto comm before I write much more as I know they were thinking about maybe having another bigbang, and this would really fit with that.
