Fic and stuff.

So I'm currently posting the last of my Rivers of London fic - a Rivers of London/Shetland crossover fic - for Countdown to Foxglove Summer writing fest. It has been lots of fun starting out in a new fandom and I can't quite beleive I'll have managed to get by the end of it 52,000 words of fic written and posted in the space of a little over three months.

My next thing after this is done is to finish my Torchwood/Being Human crossover fic, which only has five chapters to go. And I'm aiming for done and dusted on that by the end of October.

My next fic project to post will be back Torchwood. A post House of the Dead Ianto centric fix-it, with Jack/Ianto, a fair number of aliens and alien planets and a happy/hopeful ending (because honestly when do I write any other kind?)

After that who knows? I've got a load of fics sort of planned out that I could write. Some Torchwood, some Being Human, some Rivers of London, one Shetland (although that's more of a ficlet to be honest), a Whitechapel/Rivers of London crossover fic, a couple of Primeval ones.


In not fic stuff, the little one is settling in well at school and does seem to mind school dinners either. The husband managed to set fire to the oven while making cheese on toast - no major damage, but still have to get a new oven :( so I had to buy little one a Birthday cake rather than make it as new oven hasn't arrived yet.

Work is getting busier and it looks like I'll soon be helping to train new staff. Not done that in a few years. Maybe one day I'll even get a pay rise - as right now it five years and counting since the last one. (although there is still the being argued about one percent one we were supposed to have got last year that hasn't materialised yet - but I'm not counting it until it actually arrives.)

Your new Torchwood fic sounds a lot like the one I'm currently writing and posting, lol! Great minds! I hope we don't end up with fics that are too similar. Mind centres on Ianto trying to find Jack after HotD. There will no doubt be a number of alien planets and aliens involved along the way, because that's the only way to write this story. Chapter 1 of Through Time and Space is posted, Chapter 2 is written and I'm working on Chapter 3.

Just thought I'd better warn you so you didn't think I was pinching your ideas.

I doubt it will end up too similar, it's always good to see where the starting point of the same episode can go off to such different places. although mine does also have Ianto looking for jack, nearly half the fic at a guess will just be Ianto trying to work out what he is for the most part (he not exactly human any more, but he's not a ghost either or an Owen style zombie) ) the will also be a time travelling pub (well technically half a pub in a temporal bubble which has a door to the rift) and an alien mining planet and mind control device.

Wow! Yours sounds way more inventive than mine! I already want to know what Ianto is going to turn out to be. I love the time travelling pub bit. You see, you plan things properly. My brain just goes "Right, start writing this now, figure out the plot later." and throws me in at the deep end. *headdesk* I think mine will take quite a while to write, I'm hoping I don't contradict early chapters with what happens later. I'm not exactly known for writing series and this is the first time I've ever posted something bigger than a drabble that I'm still in the process of writing.

Oh this is gonna be such a reading feast!!! 2 HoD fics from two terrific writers!! I'm just going to look forward to some great reading :D :D :D
