Picked up the 'new' car this evening and everything works as far as I can tell. Probably spend the weekend tinkering with it gettting how i like it. Seems in really go condition for a car thats only six years younger than me.
it's going to be so weird giving some of the people from uni a lift in it though, some of them wheren't even born when my car was built.
It drove back from the guy bought if off and it went really well, the controls are a bit odd, everything seems like its in the wrong place, but thats just because they aren't where they were in the Metro but i'm sure i'll get used to it, the metro seemed odd at first after learning to drive in a Corsa. Corsa nice car, shame about the handbrakes - even the driving instructor said he wouldn't leave on on a hill unless he left it in first and parked facing up slope and that was on the newest modal that BSM were uing as teaching cars - plus i couldn't afford a corsa even an old one 'cause even the 10 years + ones are like over a grand - that would pay my half of the mortgage for about six months. Will post a pick of car as soon as I find some batteries for my camera - thought that i had some but the've gone walk about or have been tidied so that i may never find them again.
Planning on drving it up to Berwick upon Tweed for christmas, visit the inlaws, hopefully I wont get lost on route like I did last year, spending about an hour driving round in circles , in the dark up in the yorkshire dales. Sat nav, thats what I need - much more useful that a half asleep boyfriend with an out of date road map when trying to drive somewhere.
Would be useful for getting to the reeanctment events as well, i've spent far to much time driving round in circles because the place is badly sign posted or in the middle of nowhere, or more ususally both.
Off to order my Haynes manual now so I can find out all about the little quirks of the Renault 5 mark2 and how to fix them.
