I know, I know I really need to update this more, but somehow I never seem to find the time lately, mostly because work has been kind of nuts for the last couple of weeks.

So far this month we've had half the office off sick (of there's only 7 of us I my department, but still), the computer network go down, somebody got stuck in the lift, the computer update stopped all the barcoded document filing system from working (and it still isn't working), all the internal doors jammed open and the external door jammed shut (they are on an electric circuit and the fire alarm is somehow connected to it and that's what caused the problem) and the single status review I was supposed to do got rescheduled to an unspecified date.

All that in two weeks. I'm so looking forward to the rest of the month ;)

Anyway on with the obligatory Torchwood 2x01 review post. (This will contain spoilers for Torchwood 2x01)

Also the Torchwood game on the BBC website is made is win for a lot of reasons, not least the fact that you get an email from Ianto :)
(okay i know it's the bbc automated email service, but seeing an email in your inbox that says it's from Ianto is still pretty cool)

I finally maxed out my flexi time at work, I now have over a week of the stuff and no way of taking any of it for another six weeks - problem is unless I get it back down to 37.5 hours in three weeks time I lose everything over that as that's the maximum amount that I can carry forward.

Maybe they'll let be leave early on a couple of days, Fridays would be good, especially the ones before the next two reenactment events. Even if I can't have both of them I'd go for the Friday before I go to Blore Heath, because that one involves a hundred mile drive and putting up a tent when I get there.

I know i've not updated for like a week, I mean update more often, really I do, but stuff always seems to get in the way. As usual the stuff getting in the way was work - people on holiday, people off sick with chicken pox, me running round trying to cover their work and deal with the new staff and the postal strike, altogether a busy week .

That just sounds really lame doesn't it, i'm busy at work so i can't find a few minutes to update my journal. There's just nothing much interesting going on though to write about, and who wants to here about microfilm and people who think that acronyms have to have three letters - yes somebody at work actually thought that, although I have no idea why.

I so need a social life again. I used to have one, i'm sure I did, just need to find where I left it.
It's a friday night and I just got paid, so why am I sitting inside watching TV? When did I get so boring? I wish I was a student again, or at least still doing field work, I miss it. But I made my choice and I guess that's all that can be said.

Still, I actually get to go away for a couple of days in three weeks time, down to Cardiff for a Torchwood fan meet up, i'm really looking forward to it, even to the eight and a half hours on the coach.

It's official I have too much stuff to do - or rather I have a lot of stuff that I want to do/finish but my brain wont get into gear and do it.
I need to make icons for tw-icons100, at least 10 of them by next friday - so far I only have three that i'm actually happy with.
Fic wise I have a dozen half finished fics that just wont coopperate. I really want to get at least one of them finished this month. I just can't seem to find a POV that works on one of them and on another one, one that I said I'd have finished by the end of next month I haven't even worked out how I want it to end yet.
None of my fic even have titles - i suck at titles, I have no ability at titles - I am nearly as bad Leonard of Quirm for naming things - although I realise my names are bad and don't call things by them.

Hopefully I will have more time to work on stuff next month, this is mainly due to work finally hiring some more staff - maybe i'll actually be able to work my actual contacted 37 hours a week rather than the 45+ that i've been doing for the last six months.

Going to sleep now - will try to make more sense tomorrow. like I ever make sense :)

My home internet connection is temporarily not working, this is due to Tiscali/Belkin/BT, i'm not sure which, arn't talking to one another anymore.
Have bought a usb flash drive so I can do my first Icon post tommorrow for

tw_icons100if the local library will let me connect it to one of their computers, if not, there's always the internet cafes, but that actually costs money.
It is an excuse however to go check out the new coffee shop-internet cafe that opened up a couple of months ago, and if you spend more than £2 you can go one line for half an hour for 'free'
Am doing the sneaky posting from work thing at the moment, well not so sneaky as everybody else has gone home, i'm jsut enjoying the internet perks of doing overtime on a friday evening, oh well only another hour or so to go.
