Can't believe what's going on in London and Birmingham right now

The BBC are reporting a third night of rioting in London, and it has now spread to Birmingham with transport being shut down and shops on fire. Apparently the PM is flying back from holiday to attend a COBRA meeting tomorrow to decide the best course of action. It really doesn't feel real watching it.

It's spreading to Birmingham too? Jesus Christ... I saw some of the pictures from the Tottenham riot and it's just mind-blowing. This isn't because of some police shooting, and to be honest, I don't think it ever was. This isn't a protest, this is just mindless violence. It makes me so sad :(

this all seems to be organised - like the group trying to hijack the big TUC march earlier this year - groups of anarchists rallying amoral gangs of kids prepared to smash cars, raid stores and burn people's homes and businesses with nothing on their consciences ... it's been confirmed that messages sent out on Facebook, Twitter and on Blackberries are letting kids know when and where to gather to cause mindless destruction and steal stuff ... petty criminals are being given the confidence to commit greater crimes under the umbrella of massed groups which don't allow the poilce to intervene ... I've seen calls to bring in the army or to use water cannons ... but the trouble is that these groups know the territory and can amass and then disperse very quickly - stop and search is futile as they make do with whatever they can find on the scene to use as weapons ... and all of the posturing by politicians etc will have zero impact on either the organsiers or the kids involved ... today football matches have been postponed for fear of more violence ... it is all very scary ....
